BOKEELIA | CLIENT SINCE 2021

How did you find Pine Island?

A:  Searching on Zillow (by accident and out of curiosity)

What made you choose Bokeelia?

A:  Saw a place at Captain’s Cove that looked great and flew down the next day to see it in-person from Kansas City.  Saw several other properties on the island both in Little St. James City and Bokeelia and fell in love with the condo at Captain’s Harbor in Bokeelia.

My Experience working with Pine Island Realty was…

A:  Second to none; Top notch all the way.  Mike Faulkner was accommodating, polite and knowledgeable.  He took the time to show me at least 7 properties the same day and stayed late to sign the paperwork and make an offer but it didn’t stop there.  He made sure (even with some snags on the mortgage loan side of things) that the seller’s realtor followed through with our agreement and closed the deal.  Then he came by the condo and turned off the water, raised the AC to 80 degrees and mailed me a key since I wasn’t able to be here for the closing.  He even sent me a welcome gift basket when I arrive on the island months later.  I’ve worked with other realtors in the past none of them hold a candle to Pine Island Realty.

What do you love most about your neighborhood?

A:  My neighbors.  Everyone is so friendly, welcoming and inviting.  If you need something and they have it, many times they will offer it to you.  My first week they had already gotten me involved in the neighborhood pickleball tournament which was a BLAST!  Heck, before we got out of the moving truck when we arrived, we had three couples come up and introduce themselves to us!  Very friendly!!!

What was your 1st job?

A:  Gas station attendant at a full-service Sinclair’s Gas Station

What is your proudest accomplishment?

A:  Obtaining my 25-ton Master Captain’s license and moving to a place I can actually use it!

What is your favorite Hidden Gem?

A:  Watching the sunset from the pier at Tarpon Lodge or Pine Island Pizza.  Do yourself a favor and grab a pizza then go to the pier and watch the sun set.  If you’re lucky there might even be someone playing their guitar while you enjoy the scene.

What is your Occupation?

Diesel Technician Recruiter – I interview and hire diesel mechanics for my clients in Kansas and Missouri – Soon to be Florida too!

What was your journey like buying a home?

Interesting to say the least; I started looking around the Sarasota area because that’s where my sister and brother-in-law live and ended up an hour and half south of them to find the perfect place on the perfect island with the kindest bunch of people I could ask for!  We looked for almost a year until we found this condo and I couldn’t be happier that the journey was definitely worth the work and the wait!

What surprised you most about the buying process?

How easy Mike Faulkner at Pine Island Realty made everything including a remote closing from Kansas City.  He was beyond helpful.   I can’t say it enough.  Mike made the process incredibly easy and even recommend a home inspector and a mortgage loan officer who were extremely friendly and professional.  Everything came together seamlessly.
